Item Description

What to expect from PETG filament?

Prusament PETG filament is manufactured by Prusa itself. The entire manufacturing process is monitored and tested in detail. A margin of ±0.02mm, highly constant colors and all mechanical properties of the material are guaranteed.

About PETG

PETG is a very resistant material with good thermal resistance. Its use is universal, but more specific for mechanical parts for both indoor and outdoor use. Its tendency to bulge is almost zero, so printing larger pieces will not be a problem. PETG is used to print parts from Prusa's own printers!

It is almost as easy to print as PLA, and still offers mechanical properties that PLA cannot match. The G in PETG is for glycol, which is added during production to modify the properties of PET, making it easier to print, less brittle and more transparent when printing with the transparent variants of the various colors. It is a rigid material, but it has great flexibility to the point of preventing pieces from breaking when subjected to great pressure.

Unlike PLA or ABS, PETG tends to run more easily and leave a lot of lint in prints. This can be overcome by increasing retraction and/or changing the hotend temperature. If the prints still have some threads, you can use a heat gun to quickly heat the piece, and they will come apart easily.

Print Settings:

Nozzle 250°C
Heatbed 70-90°C

Basic attributes of the material:

+ High temperature resistance    - Does not work with very small parts

+ Easy to print                             - Leaves a lot of strings

+ Don't bulge so much                - It's bad for bridges

+ Strength and durability

+ Easy to sand

Notes

Before printing, confirm that the printing surface is very clean.

To dry this filament, follow the instructions in this article.
