PETG is a thermoplastic polyethylene polyester. This is the
most common thermoplastic polymer resin in the polyester family, and is
used in fibers for clothing, liquid and food containers, thermoforming
for manufacturing, and in combination with fiberglass for engineering
resins.
PET-G is the ideal material for producing
transparent packaging and other products that require impact resistance
and relatively high transparency.
High transparency and chemical resistance
Spectrum PET-G Premium is the second most popular material for desktop 3D printing. A major advantage provided by Spectrum PET-G Premium is
the virtually zero shrinkage rate and low moisture absorption compared
to other thermoplastics used for FDM/FFF 3D printing. Items made from
PET-G maintain stable properties over a long service life. Spectrum PET-G Premium combines advantages of PLA and ABS. It also provides nearly trouble-free printing and exceptional adhesion between layers.
Items printed with Spectrum PET-G Premium transparent
colors have a high crystalline phase content, which allows a
near-transparency effect on a small number of external perimeters of
items manufactured with additives. The granules and pigments used in the
production of Spectrum PET-G Premium are approved for contact with
food.
As for the other properties of Spectrum PET-G Premium,
the good creep resistance under constant load conditions stands out. It
results from the very good cohesion between the layers of the applied
material. This leads to much lower mechanical anisotropy in printed
items, meaning that for each manufacturing direction the mechanical
properties differ less than in other thermoplastics designed for 3D
printing.
With Spectrum PETG you will get:- scratch resistance
- print durability and stability
- high temperature resistance
Advantages:- high transparency compared to other materials for additive manufacturing
- very good mechanical properties in terms of rigidity, hardness and impact resistance
- temperature resistance HDT - 69°C
- Vicat softening temperature - 78°C
- chemical resistance
- high dimensional accuracy
- combines the advantages of PLA and ABS
- exceptional adhesion between layers
- odor free printing
Packaging
The
filament is wound on a transparent spool. Each spool contains
information about the material type, diameter and recommended printing
temperature. The filament is vacuum packed with a moisture absorber.
Verify your spool
During
production, every 1 mm of filament is measured continuously in 2 axes
with an accuracy of ± 0.8 µm. To make sure that the measurement result
is reliable, certified laser measuring devices are used. Each spool
receives a sticker with an individual QR code and spool ID. In the final
step, the collected data is transported to the database, which allows
the final consumer to check online the average diameter, ovality,
standard deviation and production date of each individually
manufactured spool.
